The Creeks Pipeline Company’s 2.1 megawatt (MW) solar farm at Jervois has been commissioned and is now operational. Commissioning was completed in December 2024 and this milestone marked the many contributions from the community and shareholders in helping deliver the project on time and budget. A total of 4,680 solar panels and 20 string inverters makes up the solar farm that will generate 5.6 gigawatt hours in an average year. A key feature of the solar farm is the solar tracking system which orients the solar panels towards the sun which maximises the solar generation. The solar farm provides predictable and affordable power and is not subject to significant energy market variations. The initiative is important given the unpredictable nature of power pricing in South Australia and the Company’s reliance on power for pumping water. The solar farm is currently generating power ‘behind the meter’ to CPC’s main pump station at Jervois on the Murray River.
